Hello. My name is Tina Gleason. I'm 65 years old and have 4 little doggies who have become my studio groupies.

At the age of 51, I found myself disabled and broken. I needed an outlet for my emotional well being. I sat for months trying to figure out what I might want to do.

One day I decided to buy paint, brushes, and canvas and see if I could paint pictures. I wasn't sure about my new venture, but I gave it a try and found I really enjoyed it. I was relaxed for the first time in 10 yrs since I became disabled. I found something.

"I found something."

I watched Smithsonian and Discovery channels to see all the wonders of the world and remembered things I saw when my husband took me out for a drive to parks, countryside, lakes and to the beach. This is where a lot of my ideas come from for my paintings--the things I see that fascinate and amaze me and make me feel alive and happy inside.

As I paint, I hope this is what comes across in my paintings for you: all the beautiful scenery and wildlife around this beautiful area are also an inspiration. I think about the beauty in life that most people seem to miss with their busy lifestyles.

This is the transformation that I hope comes to you during that moment when you disappear into that painting and feel relaxed and free walking along the beach or sitting by a creek or strolling through a field of flowers or gazing upon an old farm house or barn.

My very first paintings I sold in a garage sale. The people reacted in a way I never expected but did dream of. Their reactions encouraged me to create more. I sold 12 paintings that day and was so proud of myself for the first time in years. I found ME.

"I found me."
